The Game of Kickball
One of my most favorite games when I was growing up was kickball.
The only objects needed are a ball (soccer balls and volley balls work well), and 5 objects to use as ‘bases’.
The object of the game is almost like playing baseball. Usually however, you only need 4 people per team, but you can have more.
Simply lay out the five bases. One for first base, second base, third base, homeplate, and the pitchers mound (just like in baseball).

I have to admit, kick the can, was probably one of the most popular games we had in our neighborhood. It was real blast that combined a few popular games like ‘hide and seek’, ‘jailbreak’ and others. The object is pretty straight-forward:
Like most games, you need an “IT” person. Once the “IT” was determined, he/she would close their eyes and count over-top of a ball (we usually used a volleyball or basketball) to 100. During this time, all the other kids would scramble for a hiding spot. Once “IT” counted to 100, he would then yell “here I come!”

Things you will need to play horse:
- Basketball
- Hoop
- Things to mark your ’spots’
I have seen horse played a variety of ways, but the one that seems most popular is played as follows:
After you determine the order of who shoots first to last…
- The person who goes first picks a spot on the court, or playing area, and take their shot
- If that person makes their shot, the next person must make the same identical shot. This keeps going until either someone misses the shot, or it comes back to the first person. If someone misses the shot, they are then given the letter ‘H’. The next person in line then gets to create a new shot.
