Kick the Can
I have to admit, kick the can, was probably one of the most popular games we had in our neighborhood. It was real blast that combined a few popular games like ‘hide and seek’, ‘jailbreak’ and others. The object is pretty straight-forward:
Like most games, you need an “IT” person. Once the “IT” was determined, he/she would close their eyes and count over-top of a ball (we usually used a volleyball or basketball) to 100. During this time, all the other kids would scramble for a hiding spot. Once “IT” counted to 100, he would then yell “here I come!”

‘Heads up seven up‘ is a fun game usually played in the classroom. However, it can be played at churches, bingo parlors, or anywhere there are multiple tables and kids.
Here’s how it works:
Everyone puts their heads down on their desks and extends one thumb. The teacher (or parent) chooses one person as “IT.” He/she goes around touching the thumbs of six other people. ”IT” then goes back up to the front of the room. If your thumb is touched, you go to the front of the room also. When this has been accomplished, “IT” yells, “Seven up!” Everyone raises their heads and has to guess which of the seven people is “IT.”

The ‘Guess what I am‘ Game can really be played anywhere, but being trapped in a car, makes this a classic.
The rules are simple:
One person states they are either a person, place or thing and the others then ask questions (are you blue, can you speak, do you bark, can you be eaten, etc) until they guess what the person is, upon doing so, then they are next.
To make it more challenging:

Riding in the car, and you are bored? try the ABC game:
The object is simple; to complete the alphabet first. As you see letters on billboards & other cars’ license plates you shout out your letter and point. Once a letter has been claimed other players cannot use the same letter. Make it harder by limiting to only license plates only.
